bio

The author of this site is typically known as "steph", as in Stephanie, and is not completely comfortable writing in third person, but would feel even more awkward writing in first person.

Most of the time, she's busy running the studio in an interactive agency in Montréal, working alongside a talented team of strategists, project managers, usability experts, architects, designers and developers seeking to build great Web sites that are not only gorgeous, but also useful and relevant. Her credentials include an Honours degree in Computer Science (including an unorthodox minor in Music), and some years as a Web developer following on from an initiation into IT as a helpdesker and lab tutor/demonstrator during university days.

She has also spent much of her time as a best Web practices advocate with groups such as the Web Standards Project, before concentrating her efforts on the Education Task Force and co-leading the International Liaison Group. Variously, she had also contributed to MACCAWS and W3C Quality Assurance Interest Group In November 2007, she made scheduled appearances at the W3C Tech Plenary in Boston and ParisWeb. She will be hosting a Core Conversation at SXSWi 2008 with Stephanie Booth on "Opening The Web to Linguistic Realities".

Her true passions are for music and the arts, poetry, literature, good food, good wine and good scotch and all such other things that make life worthwhile.
